CV Notes Projects About Me

Nandini Bhattacharya

Hi! I'm Nandini, a graduate of Ashoka University, where I studied Psychology with a minor in Computer Science. I am an aspiring researcher of internalising disorders and I'm especially interested in the link between emotion regulation and clinical symptomatology across anxiety- and trauma-related disorders.

In fact, last year, I completed a thesis investigating emotional regualtion patterns in people who grew up exposed to violence using ECG technology. We analysed HRV responsivity to angry facy images under stress and neutral conditions in order to understand emotional flexibility. This work has already been presented at two conferences: Brain Networks and Dynamics Workshop at Ashoka University (2024) and the International Conference on Clinical Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neuroscience at NIMHANS (2026). In the future I would like to further explore the link between emotions, memory, and stress- perhaps even investigate biofeedback therapies for emotional regulation. I have my eyes on a PhD in the future (fingers crossed!), and am always looking for opprotunities to contirbute to research projects with a neuropsychological or clinical focus.

Outside of academics, I maintain a small home garden with help from my mother. I am a big fan of the performing arts- theatre, music, dance- and an avid consumer (+ occasional producer) of musical theatre. I love reading and I occassionally write satire. I also cook lots!
